Your 2023 Will Be Filled with Coziness and Love, According to Vivetta’s New Collection

Vivetta’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection brings back romance and delicacy and the importance of comfort during the seasons, to the stage. Throughout the show, I felt an overwhelming sense of nostalgia as many of the collection’s colors and pieces brought back memories of my childhood around the beginning of spring, a blossoming atmosphere filled with care and love.

The color combos most present throughout the show included: red or pink with white, rose pink and a shade of dark gray, black and white (or silver, usually a black piece bedazzled or with lace), and royal blue combined with baby blue. Despite the room being white, minimalistic, and honestly kind of boring, it well-suited Vivetta’s vision as the outfits composed of her colors of choice stood out flawlessly against the background and drew in my eye.

Baggy sweaters, blazers, pants, and bags were prevalent. I could see myself sporting a muted pink, body-length trench coat on the streets of Milan any day of the year. Also quite present were knit lace tights, which adorned almost every model in a variety of colors, completing the outfit with loafers, Mary Janes, or another type of usually short heel. My favorite outfits consisted of lingerie-style dresses or tanks with thick white lace trim and ribbon bows attached to the straps. Paired with knit lace tights and short heels, they showcased comfort, femininity, and sensuality.

The entire show had a dreamy yet intimate feel to it. The music consisted of soft female voices singing along to a slow, romantic beat. I felt teleported back in time to Valentine’s Day 1963 as “My Boyfriend’s Back” by the ‘60s girl group The Angels started off the show, and models steeped in pink, lace, and small heels walked the runway. Later on, we heard “You Don’t Own Me” as models strutted to the beat, bringing forth Vivetta’s passion for the clothes of this collection. Fiery and intense, “Sexy Boy” by French electronic duo AIR finished off the show as the models came out one after another, affirming Vivetta’s vision for the collection as what their website describes as “assertive femininity.” Afterward, designer Vivetta Ponti stepped out in an all-white, loose full-coverage shirt-gown paired with white lace tights and chunky black Mary Janes. Her vision was made clear, and I have to say, I adored it.
