The Perfect App for Delusional People
Are you someone who can’t go to sleep without making up the most unfathomably fake scenario? Are you a daydreamer? Do you live vicariously through characters in books, movies, and TV? No offense, but this makes you delusional. But it’s 2023; who isn’t living in a state of pure delusion to get what we want? Well, I have the perfect app for you. Tried and tested by yours truly, the Lifa shifting app.
Advertising themselves as the “app for Reality Shifters,” its use is quite obvious. According to their description in the App Store, you can “Create scripts and customize your portals with colors to assist you on your journey to shifting into each of your DRs.” You can also make a photo album for pieces of clothing, alternate Pinterest boards, change your metaphysical appearance, and more.
Now you're probably wondering, what does any of that mean? Well, the concept of reality shifting is something that daydreamers already do. They put themselves into their desired reality, or DR. Popularized during quarantine on TikTok, videos using the tag #RealityShifting have more than 2.1 billion views. The technical definition of shifting is that you can change your reality through intentional focus and visualizing where you’ll appear in your alternate reality.
Sound familiar? The concept of lucid dreaming is similar. When you have lucid dreams, you’re aware that your dream isn’t real, can control certain aspects of your dream, and know that you’re in a dream state rather than real life. Another similar experience is astral projecting. This is closer in similarity to shifting as astral projecting is the idea that your physical and spiritual body can separate so your spirit can travel from a physical to an astral plane. When you’re shifting, the idea is that you’re literally experiencing an alternate dimension.
Envisioning this alternate reality has been easy for me, as I identified with and answered yes to the initial questions at the beginning of the article. Therefore, when I first heard about the app, I was intrigued. While I still don’t have the concept of shifting down to a tee, it’s still fun to imagine you’re living in your DR. For some, they create their own alternate reality, including setting, characters, and other things. Others will draw inspiration or completely go into an already-existing fantasy world, such as the one from Harry Potter. Many shifters insert themselves into the location of famous books, TV series, or movies.
There are three easy steps on your how-to for shifting:
Start Scripting
Start to write down details you would like to see in your DR. The app can help you visualize everything, document people and relationships you want in your DR, and find a place to script. This includes where you want to be, what you want to look like, what you want to be wearing, who else you want to be there with you, etc. The more specific you are with your script, the better your shift will be.
Comfy & Cozy
It’s vital to the experience that you’re in a quiet, calm, and comfortable in your space. Most lie down on a bed or couch, making your body feel secure and letting your mind wander off.
Ground Yourself
Some ways to enhance your space before your shift is playing calming music and cutting the lights. As you ascend into your DR, focus on your intentions and repeat affirmations such as “I’m shifting into my DR” to induce yourself into self-hypnosis.
Coming Back
Shifting feels like you’re floating with your limbs numb, and some say you can smell scents from your DR. When you’re done, shifters have a safe word that will “transport” them back to their OR– or original reality.
It’s that easy to do, but there are some warnings that must be said. Shifts aren’t always good, but some substances may or may not negatively affect your ascension. Also, your experience in the shift may emotionally affect you in a negative way. It’s important to know when to use your safe word to snap back to reality (literally.)
In essence, shifting can be your ticket to becoming your most delusional self. See you on the other side. ;)
