The Harry Styles Concert Diaries
Since the beginning of September, Harry Styles has spent his months touring the United States with his second album, “Fine Line.” Love on Tour has been one of the most heavily anticipated series of concerts since it’s cancellation back in 2020 due to COVID-19. Not only were fans and bystanders excited to see Mr. Styles live, but almost more importantly, his variety of iconic outfits all designed and styled by Gucci. Alessandro Michele and Styles have had a collaboration since his first tour back in 2018, where he graced us with sixty shows, all adorned in a different Gucci suit. The crowds expected nothing less when he announced Love on Tour, and he has not disappointed us thus far.
In one of the most iconic looks of the tour so far, Harry opened up the North American leg of concerts wearing a sequined vest paired with matching hot pink trousers, pictured above. To say the least, it was an amazing way to re-introduce concerts back into our lives after the crazy past two years we’ve had. This outfit set the tone for the rest of the tour and he has only continued to inspire us with his different suits. The most amazing thing about Styles' performances are that they aren't just concerts, they “are basically fashion shows, and we love to see it.”
This may come from his collaboration with Gucci over the past few years. He’s clearly shown bias over other companies, considering he has been styled by the luxury brand at every event he has been to from the Met Gala, all the way to the Brits. “The pair believes that the relationship works because Gucci is able to offer Harry such a broad spectrum of looks to choose from.” While Styles may have started solely wearing Gucci back in 2018, the duo actually shared their first “collaboration” back in 2016 when Michele was just starting out as the Creative Director of Gucci. Since then, their partnership has only blossomed, and we have been able to see hundreds of extravagant looks adorned by Harry.
Another iconic outfit so far was a satin, champagne-colored vest paired with matching satin trousers. The fans in Nashville, Tennessee went wild over this outfit, as it was so different from Styles’ go-to suit with suspenders. After night one, this was the first look that really set this tour’s looks apart from his first tour in 2018.
After hearing about these shows and seeing the stunning Gucci ensembles all over social media, I was lucky enough to get to experience Styles myself at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on October 27th. Here, Harry wore cherry red trousers with matching suspenders, and a black satin button-up. While it may not have been the most exciting outfit, he still wore it well and it fit his overall style. The high-waisted trousers and suspenders have been a recurring look since the release of Harry’s second album and throughout the beginning of his tour.
While most celebrities and pop icons usually have a pretty good sense of fashion, Styles takes it a step further with his eccentric, retro-inspired outfits and, of course, Gucci. “Vogue” even said that Styles was Gucci’s muse in the article mentioned earlier and I think most people can agree with that statement. Since the pair have joined forces, we’ve only continued to see look after look being churned out, and I’m excited to see what they have in store for the rest of his tour. Gone are the days when he would rock basic fitted blazers and collared shirts from his time with One Direction. Now, it's Gucci or nothing, and we can’t get enough.
Strike out,
