Summer brings fun, new trends in the beauty world that are guaranteed to spice up any look. Check out our list for the best summer beauty looks to ensure that you look just as hot as the temperature.
1. Monochromatic
Monochromatic looks have been a thing for a while, but it’s time we fully commit to the color blocking lifestyle. Using the same hues, you’re wearing in your makeup look can add that extra something you didn’t know you needed. If you’re not down to look like a crayon, using your blush, bronzer, or highlight as your eyeshadow or matching your eyeshadow to your lip color, will get the job done. Plus, using the same products continuously during your routine makes for an effortless, cohesive look. 2. Pops of Color
Again, adding pops of color to your beauty routine is a fun way spruce up any look. Perfect for someone new to makeup and trying to experiment with color, this trend is supper easy to imitate. An easy way to do this is by lining your undereye with some fun colors—Glossier’s new brand, Glossier Play just released a ton of cool colors and Marc Jacobs’s liners are a cult favorite. Another fun way to do this is by highlighting your inner corner with a bright shade, something Kylie Jenner did here. Pastels are huge this season and incorporating them into your look could be your new thing, so don’t be scared to spice up your looks!
3. Retro Hair Accessories
Another huge trend this season is hair accessories, and it’s about time if we don’t say so ourselves. Along with retro clothing, retro hair accessories are coming back with a vengeance. This lazy girl trick is incredibly easy to do as well as pull off. Incorporate scrunchies and hair scarfs into your looks, giving it a whimsy and fun and it also allows you to pull your hair up as it gets hotter without losing your style. Everyone wore hair clips and bobby pins when they were little, but now you can wear them for fun again without looking like you are eight. Huge Hair clips, literally any style you could think of, are also back in—check out these cool shell ones (Amazon also sells them in all colors of the rainbow, maybe try to match your makeup to them). Pearl and tortious shell ones are also major right now—you can find all the styles at Verge Girl or at Urban.
Incorporating one of more of these trends into your outfit is super easy and effortless, plus pulling your looks up through your makeup and hair really make a difference for your outfit’s sake. Making bold beauty choices is not only fun, but super encouraged this Summer, so be sure to step out of your comfort zone before the season is over!
