Rose Colored Glasses
Love,
Love is a powerful term that is up for deliberation and discussion concerning its different properties and affiliations. A mother has a love for her child, and a husband has a love for his spouse, but do these two types of love look different in the eye of the viewer? When one is said to have been looking through “Rose Colored Glasses”, they have been connected to an exuberant amount of positivity and no perception of a negative reality or life events. When associating this term to the month of February, there is not a cynical tone, but rather a celebration of one’s current achievements and a hope for a positive future by connecting oneself to their own symbiotic system and the surrounding environment. Pablo Picasso, an influential artist who paved the way for many different artistic time periods, embraced pink and orange colors in a series of works of art titled the Rose Period. It can be seen through the textures and environments of these paintings that Picasso was cheerful or hopeful during this two yearlong Rose Period. Picasso’s style of painting incorporated Harlequins and Clowns, who were known for far-out costumes and flexible body movements. Rose Colored Glasses incorporates all of these methodologies through the usage of a natural environment and fashion accessories. While feathers, tulle and garnet colored hair emphasize a Romantic atmosphere, they also portray the original beliefs of the Rose Period with positive fluidity.
