Chic for Cheap?
Want to save money and also feel stylish? In college, one of the biggest struggles is managing money especially when you walk into your favorite store and see all the new, cute clothing just lying there. Taking a look at that price tag and being so disappointed is not a feeling someone wants to feel. However, there are a few places where you won’t be terrified to look at the price tag.
Cheap and Trendy
Throughout college, students are figuring their own styles out and that can be hard to do with a small budget. These are some stores you can find trendy clothing for a decent price.
Students can physically shop at all of these stores except for Marshalls online, which is very convenient for many busy college students. Pretty Little Thing has 40% off everything using a promo code, while Missguided has free shipping over $60. You can also find a trendy going out top for usually around $15 at Forever 21. A big favorite on campus right now is Fashionova. Everyone who shops there can tell you, their jeans fit perfectly for only a whopping $40 maximum, and that does not even include their ongoing storewide sales. If you are looking for a formal or cocktail dress, you can most likely find one at Lulus or Tobi for under $100. Men can order literally whatever they need, such as a nice shirt for around $20, by either going online and searching on Amazon or by visiting a local Marshalls. Many people have doubts about ordering from sites like Shein, however, you would be surprised the unique pieces you can find such as a pair of snakeskin pants. Many students use this to stock up on swim suits before the summer season as well. This site has crazy low prices that many would not even believe. Some items are hit or miss, but when its only $5, you don’t have much to lose.
No matter what type of style you have, out of all of these stores, students will be able to fine some well-priced, fashionable clothing items.
Knock offs
Another trend college student are partaking in to save money but still look fashionable is wearing knockoffs. Is it really worth it to buy a $550 belt?
Guys and girls, race to Amazon to find a nearly exact replica of their favorite name brand item. Popular items include: Gucci belts, faux fur coats, Supreme hats and shirts, and name-brand wallets. You can even find a pair of fake Raybands. Some may say they rather buy the real deal however, in college it’s easy for things to get stolen, lost, or ruined from a night out, so having a Fucci belt just might save you a ton of time and money. Most people on campus cannot even tell the difference between a real or fake name brand item nowadays, so have no fear for people judging you for saving money!
If you aren’t the type of person that wants to wear a knock off, don’t worry because you can still find name brand items for cheaper. Companies like Poshmark and Ebay allow anyone to make an account and sell their gently used clothing or accessories. Student, Kailen Bender, sold two sweaters, a blouse, and a pair of Topshop jeans and made over $300 on Poshmark. Since they are gently used, you can generally buy each item for half the normal price. Students can pretty much find anything they are looking for on these sites.
