Reading Between the Lines
This series of collages are meant to represent the role that mass media is playing in today’s society. Oftentimes it can be so hard to decipher through what politicians are trying to say, and what they are purposely not. These blackout poems are meant to show the points that we, as humanity, should be focused on. The parts that are “blacked out” were done with white paint, to represent the white noise that mass media has turned into. With so much clutter serving to distract us, it is important to stop and decide what points we need to be hearing from our leaders and stop having to read between the lines.
