Quarantine Style Essentials

It is no secret that the COVID-19 pandemic has influenced the ways we work, socialize and study, but it has also drastically changed the ways we dress. If you’re anything like me, the past eight months have consisted of chill, Zoom, sleep and repeat and, as my interest in online shopping has progressed, I have compiled a list of my quarantine style staples.

Sweat Suit from The Mayfair Group

Perhaps my most worn outfit over the course of the past eight months, a high-quality comfortable sweat suit is a MUST, quarantine or not. I love The Mayfair Group’s merch so much that I wear both pieces separately and as a matching set at least two days per week.

Oversized Blazer from Aritzia

Despite the comfortable clothing that has encompassed the majority of our quarantine experiences, everyone needs a good professional fit. That’s where Blazers enter the chat. Paired over a simple button down, blazers are the perfect Zoom meeting staple, and nobody will ever know that you’re actually wearing sweatpants.

Biker Shorts from Lululemon

No matter whether you’re quarantining or not, everyone needs to good pair of biker shorts. Equally flattering and comfortable, they make a day in or an afternoon out of the house feel like nothing – literally. I’ve spent months trying to find them in a material I love and the lululemon align 6” shorts are the PERFECT pair!

Slippers from UGG

I had never taken an interest in slippers before the beginning of quarantine but, after about a month at home and trashing several of my favorite pairs of socks, I made the decision to get a pair. And I’m never looking back. These UGG’s are super cozy and can withstand indoor and outdoor adventures (socially distanced, of course).

Chunky Sneakers from Nike

Chunky sneakers have been a staple for the past year but it wasn’t until the thick of quarantine that I really got into sneakers as statement pieces. Not only are they comfortable (after properly broken in), but they also make any outfit look put-together. My current favorite pair are the Air Jordan 1 Mid Lemon Yellows but I’m keeping a close eye on the Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Infinites.

Blue Light Glasses from Quay Australia

As we navigate the ups and downs of Zoom University, remote work or general boredom, a lot of our time is spent staring at a screen… or multiple. The light emitted from our phone and computer screens isn’t exactly great for our eyes, so a stylish pair of blue light glasses can quite literally be a life – or eye – saver.

Straight Leg Mom Jean from Princess Polly

Because you can find these wardrobe staples anywhere from your local thrift store to a high-end boutique, regardless of price or preference, a pair of straight leg mom jeans are an essential and look amazing with absolutely everything and on anyone. Trendier and more comfortable than skinny jeans, you’ll barely know the difference between dressing up and staying in.

Oversized Tee Shirt from Urban Outfitters

I’ve been an oversized tee shift fan for as long as I can remember but, as they’ve become my day-to-day piece for the past year or so, I’ve gotten admittedly good at differentiating the good from the great. It’s all about the material and UO has got us set, let me tell you.
