Q&A With Betty Jean Bowles: Catching Up With The Latest In Fashion Technology
Hi Betty, please tell our readers a little bit about who you are and where you’re from!
My name is Betty Jean Bowles and I am from a suburb in Detroit, Michigan! Prior to my current position as the PR & Social Media Coordinator for Qatch, I attended the University of Alabama where I earned my B.A. and served as an intern for Qatch. I am typically drawn to anything that combines both creativity and analytics which is what attracted me to the career field I am currently in!
What is Qatch and who does it cater to?
Qatch is a fashion tech startup that sends recommendations a few times a week based off on individual users’ selected style preferences. We also cater to personal styling requests that users may submit while looking for specific clothing for an event or holiday. Qatch primarily caters to the fashion preferences of women who fall between the ages of 18-24 years old. Our college ambassador program Qatch Me On Campus has really assisted in establishing that group as our target demographic.
Where did the idea for “Qatch Me On Campus” come from? How is it different from other ambassador programs?
We launched Qatch Me On Campus in 2020 as an attempt to connect to our college demographic and it has been a success ever since! Our ambassadors are tasked with creating a variety of digital content each month to help with the overall marketing of Qatch and reaching our target audience. One thing that sets this program apart from others would be the fact that we pride ourselves on being hands-on with our ambassadors. We take a genuine interest in building professional relationships with the girls in our program and strive to help them grow in any way we can!
How can someone bring Qatch to their campus or become an ambassador?
Great question! We open applications (found on our Instagram account) twice a year. The application process is very thorough and hands-on in an attempt to secure the best ambassadors possible. In addition to our applications, we also offer many opportunities for potential ambassadors to reach out to us and interact with us via social media!
What should we look out for from Qatch? Why should people #JoinQatch?
As far as updates, we are currently in the process of curating some cool merch that will drop soon! We also have our virtual event, The Qonference: So You Want to Be an Influencer?, coming up on April 11th. The event features a panel of influencers and content creators from all around the country providing inspiration and answers to questions from aspiring influencers. Lastly, we are in the process of restructuring our brand as a whole and have moved to a waitlist model in the meantime. We will be launching our web-app soon so look out for updates via our Instagram account! Overall, people should join Qatch because we are, once again, hands-on in every way possible. Even though we are offering a professional service, we truly view our users and ambassadors as family!
