Internships and Part-Time Jobs in the Fashion World
Quarantine has given us all an opportunity to reorganize our rooms, catch up on our beauty sleep, and even advance our careers. However, in the past six months I have been reveling in a deep lethargy, with brief moments of productivity and organization. With the new semester, it’s time to change that. So, for those of you wanting to look into available jobs in the fashion industry, I have compiled a list of internships and part-time jobs that pertain to the fashionably inclined. Most of these internships and part-time jobs require minimal fashion and business experience, which is ideal for us college students looking to break into the industry! I found the following opportunities on Handshake.com, Internships.com, and Indeed.com.

3. Bloomingdales- Located in Palm Beach Gardens, this job is to create meaningful connections with customers and be able to style an outfit to their liking, while being a sales associate. 4. Lassale Magazine- A Miami fashion magazine looking for an intern to act as a stylist, to work on sets of shoots and with designers and stylists to create the perfect look. 5. The starting salary is between $10-15 an hour.

8. Elan International- This fashion company specializing in contemporary women’s clothing is looking for interns to experience all sides of the fashion industry, from photoshoots to data mining and sales. 9. Made by Heaven- A public relations and advertising company, which works with FAU’s career center, is looking for videographers and video editors to work with video templates for fashion brands and influencers. This is an unpaid internship.

At least one year of experience related to media marketing or digital marketing is required. No salary noted on the website.
12. Intermix- The Intermix of Bal Harbour, a bridge away from North Miami, is looking for a stylist to basically work as an elevated sales associate in-store, to style and satisfy customers and create unforgettable looks! No salary is noted on the website. However, I assume it’s pretty comfortable because even the sale rack is expensive in Intermix.
13. Miansai- A jewelry boutique in Miami is offering an unpaid internship position for one to work alongside the Art department and come up with different graphic designs for new pieces, and a social media manager position to post and engage with possible customers.
Ending with lucky number 13, you can see that there are different credible opportunities which require minimal previous experience and range throughout the fashion industry focused in South Florida. I hope that if you are interested, you are able to pursue these and find a new chapter for your career in fashion!
