How to Get the Latte Look

With the beginning of fall, we leave behind low maintenance, minimal coverage summer makeup and enter a fuller coverage, darker makeup season, and shifting to a new season, means seeing some old beauty trends, and some unexpected new ones.

One big makeup trend that appeared late this summer and has taken off the beginning of this fall is “latte” or, “cinnamon” makeup. This coverage consists of:

  • brown, orange, and golden eyeshadow

  • bronzed, glowy skin

  • a brown, glossy donut lip

This “latte look” is said to look good on any skin tone. But, recommended that the darker the skin tone, the darker the shading of the browns and yellow hues.

The brown, glossy “donut lip” also started to appear last fall. It’s a returning makeup trend that was extremely popular in the 90s, worn by stars like Selena, Jennifer Lopez, and Naomi Campbell (to name a few.) Another returning makeup trend from the 90s we can expect to see this fall is grungy, darkly lined eyes. Over the past years we’ve seen more bold and, creative eye liner looks. Shadowy eye liner with “latte” makeup is a great way to get a “moodier,” heavier coverage look this year.

One last thing to top off your “cinnamon girl” look is orange hued hair. This differentiates in multiple shades, with “pumpkin spice” hair as a mix of brown and copper, “golden red” hair which is a combination of red and lighter strands of hair, “amber” hair which is a deeper orange/red, and “ruby red” which is fully dark red.

With all these different beauty styles to try this autumn, you can either wear one or wear them all together to create a fuller cinnamon, latte look. We hope to see you rocking some of these warmer, darker shades!

Strike Out,
