How to Dress Like Your Zodiac Sign: Aquarius Season

Not only is it the season of a new year and the Presidential inauguration, but it is also officially Aquarius season in the zodiac world! The eleventh sign in the zodiac, Aquarians are known to be intellectual and creative, with open minds and intelligent thought processes. The unique and versatile nature of the Aquarius makes it difficult to figure out a universally appealing fashion style for them. However, their eccentric and quirky tendencies also make them one of the most fashion-forward signs. So, without further ado, here’s a guide on how to dress like an Aquarius:

The Everyday Aquarius

The Aquarius is an air sign- so wearing delicate, flowy, and airy tops only makes sense. Think of tops that move with the person wearing them. Sheer sleeves, whether they be long or cuffed at the shoulder, will give off the go-with-the-flow and angelic image the Aquarian portrays.

That being said, Aquarians are known to be unique, innovative thinkers who do not appreciate being put in a box or sold as a single aesthetic. Pairing girlier tops with high-waisted, wide legged pants will help showcase the sign’s versatility.

Perhaps one of the most original signs in the zodiacs, Aquarians should not be shy when it comes to more experimental patterns- think angelic cherubs, fruits, and abstract shapes. Don’t be afraid to go for more fashion-forward and “out-there” patterns- your sign encourages you to go outside of the box, not stay inside!

The Social Aquarius

For fancier nights out (or nights in, since we’re still in a pandemic!), satin and chiffon are the Aquarian’s best friends. This could range from chiffon dresses to satin camisoles and corsets. The delicate nature of chiffon and the shiny, eye-catching quality of satin offer two sides of the same coin for the Aquarian.

If you’re feeling the dreamier, intuitive side of the Aquarian, try a cute tea dress or a flowy pastel dress. If you want to hone in on the more innovative, intense nature of the sign, a satin camisole or lace corset might be the way to go. The versatility of Aquarius knows no bounds!

For those nights when the Aquarius simply wants to feel themselves in the skin they’re in, lingerie is a must.

My first suggestion is simple: lace, lace, and more lace. The duality of lace perfectly fits the Aquarian aesthetic, as it is both delicate and sexy, and, at the same time, dainty yet powerful. They may also gravitate towards more “artistic” lingerie- that is, as opposed to plainer pieces, since embroidered details may be more fitting. As far as color schemes go, light blues and whites are the sign’s most defining colors.

The Detail-Oriented Aquarius

Aquarians are not strangers to accessories since they can, after all, make or break an outfit.

They will do whatever they can to wear art on their body, so handmade and one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces are must-haves! These could range from human features (i.e face earrings) to famous paintings (i.e necklaces displaying Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”).

Hair scarves worn to tie one’s hair back are perfect for showcasing the Aquarius’s artsy and freedom-loving characteristics. Remember- don’t be afraid to go for unique patterns. Especially with plain and simpler outfits, a hair scarf can act as a much-needed pop of color, while adding texture.

Simply put, the Aquarian is the most unique sign of the twelve zodiacs. To them, fashion is wearable art, as well as a way to showcase individuality and personality to the world. Strangeness should be embraced, not shied away from. Don’t be afraid to make your own trends- it’s what Aquarians do best!
