Alexandra Saint Mleux: F1’s Rising Female Fashion Icon

Formula 1 is a sport that is only growing in popularity. Alongside the appeal of the never-ending adrenaline from fast cars, the sport's luxury and exclusivity are just as intoxicating.

Since there are only 20 drivers on the grid, there are a plethora of eyes on them, and that extends to their partners. The most adored is Alexandra Saint Mleux, girlfriend of Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc. The pair were first spotted together in 2023. From then on, she has skyrocketed in popularity and has been praised for having a style that even non-F1 fans aspire to have.

The internet took a particular interest in her for her keen sense of fashion and the confident energy she exuded on the paddock. One way that was shown was through her incredible posture and walk. In addition, she was quite mysterious since her only public social media account was her TikTok. So when she was spotted at a race, fans paid extra attention to her and, more specifically, her style.

To get a sense of her popularity, she initially opened her Instagram account with about 800 followers in June, and now she has amassed over a million. Her feed matches her overall aesthetic, with one commenter saying, “If Pinterest were a person, it would definitely be her.” Let's get into some of her most popular looks to get a clearer picture of her style.

What is F1 without its most iconic track, Monaco? With this reputation, attendees come to the track dressed to impress.

Typically, people opt for white or blue clothing to match the architecture or the glistening water just off the track. But Alex took a different route for the weekend this year by showing up pretty in pink. For qualifying, she wore The Electra Dress from Rélisation Par, paired with For Art’s Sake sunglasses. On race day, she wore a pink tweed set from Devon Windsor for race day with beaded heart jewelry. Both outfits were simple yet sleek, adding a pop of color to the paddock.

In addition to her outfits being effortlessly elegant, they are often quite affordable. Following Charles’ race win, a Gala dinner was held, and the Prince and Princess of Monaco were in attendance. She still decided to stay simple when accompanying, wearing a long, flattering knit black dress from Meshki, which is on sale now for $57.

Meshki is a brand she often wears and most of their pieces are affordable. For instance, at the Mexico Grand Prix last year, she wore a flowy, long-sleeved Ferrari red dress from the brand. While it's no longer on their website, it originally cost less than $100. She paired the look with a red Valentino bag and studded sandals. This look coincided with many of the looks from earlier this year: elegant light dresses paired with luxury accessories.

The main reason her style inspires many on the internet is its accessibility. Even if a specific outfit is out of their price range, a similar piece can be found since she sticks to simple silhouettes.

What’s even more endearing about her style is that she is a proud outfit repeater. Certain corners of the internet criticized her for rewearing a With Jéan corset dress. It was first worn in Monaco for an APM Monaco event, then again to a Miami restaurant. In response, she made a TikTok clapping back with the sound, “Lizzie McGuire, you are an outfit repeater!”

For the Miami Grand Prix, Alex took a more casual approach to the weekend. Earlier in the week, Ferrari revealed special livery and kits for the race weekend, adding a fitting light blue to their color palette. She played into the new color by wearing a double denim set from Lioness paired with Roger Viver heels. In hand was a Coperni Swipe Bag in ostrich.

For race day, she featured both of Ferrari’s colors. Her red rose top was from With Jéan, paired with bootcut Zara jeans. For even more pops of red, she had a mini nylon Prada bag and pointed strappy heels. Then, for some shade from the Florida sun, she wore Khaite x Oliver Peoples sunglasses.

While we get plenty of glimpses of Alex’s stylishness on the race track, she has pulled some particularly stunning looks over the F1 “summer break” while in Ibiza. Her style began shifting to more luxurious pieces. One piece was a beaded dress from Clio Peppiatt, a style seen on stars like Taylor Swift. She opted for the sunset gradient colorway, emphasizing the beadwork's opulence and beautiful scenery.

To add to the sparkle theme, she also wore a glimmering green sequin set from Asta Resort. Both looks gave her an ethereal fairy look.

Although Alex’s style has evolved over the past year, it has not changed much of the internet’s adoration over her looks. If anything, it shows that she is taking bolder steps with her clothing. In the end, whether she is in a simple monochrome dress or an extravagant set, we are taking notes for our own closets.
