A Halloween Costume for Each One of Your Personalities

Every year my friends and I try to brainstorm hot and funny ideas for our Halloween costumes. It's a constant balance between trying to look good and not being a basic b*tch. The following list is the best of the best ideas that will get you compliments at your Halloween party, but also make someone want to rip your costume off because you're so sexy and funny.

1. For the girl who wants to be funny and cute:

Any girl cartoon character is a badass choice for a girl trying to do something different and niche without being too basic.

A couple of good choices are:

Tina Belcher from Bob’s Burgers

This look is easily achievable by wearing a blue T-shirt and navy skater skirt paired with glasses, long white socks, and high-top converse. It’s cute and funny, but you have to do the viral twerk move to complete the look.

To dress up as queen Debbie, you just need to bring out your best ripped baggy jeans and your dad's plaid shirt. As for the rest, just don't brush your hair for a few days and throw on some red lipstick; you’ll be set.

2. For the girl who wants to be a bad bitch:

This is the girl who takes Halloween seriously, wanting to show off her inner bad bitch. When she walks past you on Halloween, you think, “damn, how does someone look so good?”

Any girl who dresses up as any Uma Thurman character is the baddest of b*tches, and I will not be taking any criticism on that. Any yellow tracksuit will do, and if you throw some blood on it and bring a FAKE sword to the club, you will undoubtedly be the talk of the night.

3. For the girl who wants to be preppy and cute:

This is the girl that is constantly wearing cute mini skirts and somehow always smells like strawberries. She will be using Halloween as her opportunity to show off her best preppy vibes.

Trixie is that girl that gives out cupcakes on random days and makes you feel appreciated for dressing up as an ugly pumpkin. She is a safe choice and a pretty easy costume to recreate. Just get a purple turtleneck and white mini skirt with white boots, walk around the place with your shoulders back, and radiate that Trixie energy!

4. For the girl who wants to make a good reference:

Step Brothers

Not to toot my own horn, but I think my friend and I had the best costume last year. We dressed up as Step Brothers, got a million compliments, and got street cred with the boys at the party. We wore khaki mini skirts instead of pants, and thrifted sweater vests and button-ups to make it cute. The whole costume cost about 20 bucks and was truly priceless.

5. For the girl who wants to be famous:

Amy Winehouse

This is the girl who takes every opportunity to sing you her favorite song. She was a band kid but grew up to be a cool girl. Amy Winehouse is an effortless and cool costume. You just have to tease your hair into a bouffant, get a colored bra, white tank, and a fake sleeve of tattoos.

Now that you have some ideas of what to dress up as, my work here is done. Your best bet is to make these your own and put a spin on them. Try to let your inner imagination flow and do something you feel hot in, no matter what it is.

Strike out,
