Top Beauty Advent Calendars Worth the Splurge
With the holidays approaching, it’s time to start thinking about what you’re gifting your besties, girlfriends, moms, or better yet — yourself. One of my favorites that has the perfect balance of holiday surprise and can’t-go-wrong essentials is an Advent calendar! Here are the top beauty Advent calendars I think are worth the splurge:
I will definitely be trying this one out. This Advent calendar is on the more affordable side, so it’s perfect if you’re on a budget or shopping for more of an acquaintance rather than your best friend of ten years. But don’t let the price fool you; this Advent calendar comes fully stocked. You get some pretty quality items that surpass the price, considering the calendar features 24 days worth of surprises.
It includes a compact mirror, scrunchie, beauty blender, powder applicator, contour, highlighter, two blushes, two lip liners, liquid eyeliner, an eyebrow pencil, eyebrow powder, two mini eyeshadow palettes, two brushes, two lipsticks, lip balm, two lip glosses, mascara, and eyebrow gel.
This Advent calendar is so good it sold out! With a whopping $539 value, Revolve did not come to play this year. The calendar includes 24 days of beauty and features 27 products in total. Although this calendar is pricier, if you’re a makeup lover, this one is worth the dollar signs. The box includes six full-size products: Benefit liquid blush and lip tint, Briogeo Farewell Frizz oil, Charlotte Tilbury beauty light wand highlighter, Dibs GlowTour blush and contour stick, Summer Fridays face oil, and Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara.
Other big brands in this Advent calendar include Olaplex, Ouai, Stila, Supergoop!, Tarte, and Tower 28. Take a peek at the description to see what other mini products await you in this calendar, and be sure to order yours soon to enjoy a cute new surprise each day promptly on December 1st!
E.L.F. has taken the element of surprise within Advent calendars seriously this year: their website includes few details, listing the general kinds of items you can expect to receive in your beauty box this year. With 15 full-size beauty items, the calendar will also feature seven exclusive new shades in lip, eye, and blush products. The 24-day calendar comes in at a $140 value; I think it’s safe to say it’s worth the money. The Advent calendar is available exclusively on their website, so make sure to order one in time for the approaching holiday season.
Honorable Mention: Trader Joe’s $19.99
This beauty Advent calendar has been a favorite of mine in past years, and it just returned this past week. I classify this calendar as an honorable mention because most beauty lovers don't get their products from Trader Joe’s; however, if you’re like me and not super into makeup, this is such a fun one! They bring in all the elements of fall and winter for the best, unique scents. This year’s calendar features 12 days of beauty; you can expect to receive mini products like body butter, lip balm, hand cream, and more! Another bonus – Trader Joe’s also offers a candle or chocolate calendar this year if you’re looking to embrace the season further!
Not-So-Honorable Mention: Sephora
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this one isn’t worth your money, so I’m saving you from the heartache of spending 2500 Sephora points. However, don’t get confused because there’s a Sephora Advent calendar available for purchase that’s separate from this one. This Advent calendar was only redeemable through insider points, and the consensus online was that the calendar had low-quality and cheap products, especially for the number of points. 2500 beauty insider points are equivalent to $2500 spent, meaning the rewards for this amount of points are typically pretty high value. The calendar includes beauty accessories such as sponges, socks, mirrors, and hairclips; no skincare or makeup. So do yourself a favor and avoid this one altogether.
If you want to treat yourself or a friend during this holiday season, check out these beauty Advent calendars and snag one before they sell out!
Strike Out,
