The World of Astrology Part II

Only just a couple weeks ago, our Sun migrated into Libra season, which lasts from September 23rd through October 23rd. With that brings the desire for peace, harmony, and the enrichment of relationships. So, with that being said, what better topic to cover during a time of relationship assessment and building than your sign in Venus?

Everybody is familiar with the Roman Goddess Venus, who presides over love and beauty. What you may not know, though, is that amongst your natal chart, you have a sign specifically ruling Venus based on your natal chart information. If you missed the first column and still need to create your natal chart, you can do that here. If you'd like to understand your basic Sun, Moon, and Rising sign first, you can read up on it here. If you've already done this, and want to find out your Venus sign a bit more quickly and directly, you can calculate just your sign in Venus here.

Why is your sign in Venus so important, though? Coincidentally, your sign in Venus almost always correlates to the love language you may have already discovered for yourself. Everybody has a different way of giving love, as well as how they want to receive it. Sometimes your partner may have a differing love language, and knowing what your partner needs and vice versa can make all the difference in your relationship making it or breaking it.

Additionally, knowing your sign in Venus can aid you in learning how to practice self-love. How often do you give yourself the affection and attention that you desire from a partner? How often do you tell yourself good morning, or give yourself a quick embrace? Are you able to confidently take yourself out on a date or treat yourself to a spa day?

Knowing how you need affection, for yourself and from others, as well as how to appropriately give love to others is almost as important as knowing how to communicate effectively. Within the natal chart, your sign in Venus is represented by the symbol ♀︎. It encompasses love, money, and eroticism. It reveals to you the type of things you love, and how you go about attracting it. To see what your sign in Venus means for you, click here.

Understanding your love language, AKA your sign in Venus, is key to helping both your relationships and mental health flourish. Giving yourself the love and time you crave from a partner will aid you in becoming a better lover and friend, and accommodating those differences for your partner will bring you closer together than ever before.

So while Libra season progresses, keep in mind to be gentle and patient with yourself. Be confident in your choices and where you invest your time, and allow the healing that Libra brings to surround and fill you. To keep the theme of the season, next week we'll be covering your sign in Mercury- the gateway to self-expression.
