As the season's change and fall turns into winter, the onset of fire consumption will rampage throughout the United States. Firefighters throughout the nation will heed emergency calls day and night, as they do year round, during this turbulent season. With an homage to 9/11 and recognition of the recent natural fires decimating the landscape in LA as well as worldwide, there is mass demand for male and female firefighters to protect the land which provides substances essential to life. Engineer Firefighter Lance Rains stated that "medical emergencies, car accidents, and house fires," are all disasters that firefighters respond to in times of need.

When firefighters were asked why they chose a dangerous career in a demanding industry their response was a love for helping those in need. EMT Firefighter Delano Johnson supported this statement as "you must be willing to risk your life in order to save another's." Firefighters and other rescue personnel give their strength and comfort willingly to those in need. EMT Firefighter Luke Gray reminds us of the outcomes emergency calls can have on the mind and body. Through "research of PTSD," as well as exploring new ways to lower blood pressure and stress levels when emergencies are called in, there can emerge a beneficial effect towards the long term health of firefighters.
