#STRIKETRENDWATCH Is Back Just in Time for Spring Break

Spring Break officially starts tomorrow, which means I have t-24 hours until I lose your attention to a spicy margarita pitcher that's been calling your name since that first midterm you took on Tuesday. And what kind of person would I be if I let you run off into the sunset without the latest edition of #STRIKETRENDWATCH?! That's right, we are back and ready to dish out the hottest trends turning up the heat this season.  Let's dive in, shall we?

Size Matters: Oversized Denim

As seen on the runways of Burberry and Chloé last September, the oversized denim trend is here to stay!  This trend has a relaxed and comfortable feel, from baggy boyfriend jeans to excessively large denim jackets, automatically giving you cool girl points no matter the occasion.

Sheer Perfection

Sheer fabric has entered the chat this season due to the touch of elegance, sophistication, and sensuality it can bring to any outfit.  With its delicate, lightweight appeal, this trend is the perfect way to create that effortlessly sexy, tits out but in a French way, "I'm not like other girls, I'm worse," ethereal and mysteriously hot vibe some of us are going for this season.

Why is Everything Chrome?

I saw Bella Hadid wearing metallic pants, so I bought metallic pants.  This shiny new trend is eating up the runway this season and has gained popularity due to the rise of futurism and technology in fashion.  Pair with your favorite Strike Magazine “What is Sexy” baby tee, and you’ll be sure to turn heads at your local college frat house!

En Pointe

Sandy Liang Girlies, stand up! Ballet flats have been around since the 16th century and have proven to stand the test of time, with their classic and timeless design remaining unchanged throughout the seasons.  This season we’re seeing a resurgence in the trend, with designers incorporating embellishments, such as bows, jewels, and studs, into the design of the practical everyday shoe.

It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s a Collina Strada Broccoli Bag?

Introducing the latest trend straight from your wildest fashion fever dreams. With a growing love for maximalism and learning that fashion is not to be taken too seriously, it's no surprise that all the it-girls are trading in their Dior saddle bags for Panera Bread Baguette bags. Novelty bags are becoming increasingly popular on and off the runway, adding a playful and quirky touch to any look.

Neck and Neck

Bold necklaces have become a rising trend and come in a wide range of styles, from chunky gold chains to oversized pendant chokers; there’s something for everyone, making them a versatile statement piece everyone needs in their wardrobe.  With the increasing interest in sustainable and ethical fashion, many of our favorite fashion girlies are opting for organic-looking pieces from recycled metals or natural materials.

Functionality at its finest

Utility fashion is generally characterized by using functional elements in fashion, such as cargo pockets, loops, oversized silhouettes, and belts, providing style and practicality simultaneously.  As seen in recent collections by Miu Miu, Diesel, and Sacai, this trend has made quite the commotion on the runway and has become quite popular in everyday fashion (gorp-core has entered the chat).

Motomami Motomami

The verdict is in: we’re allowing the biker trend to extend her stay past the winter.  Oversized motocross jackets, chunky curb stompers, and sexy studded leather are all the rage, according to our favorite designers.  Live out your 1990 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy dreams by bringing this trend into the Spring season.

This was fun…  Same time next month?
