Squeeze Please: Strike’s Guide to Juicing

As summer approaches, it is time to bring out the healthiest versions of ourselves. Our skin is glowing, our guts are thriving, our bodies are tea, our energy is magnetic, hair is down to our ass…bloating? We don't know her. Our immune systems are strong, and we feel healthy and content with ourselves.

The secret? Juicing.

I am here to be your biggest influence in trying this out. I have never felt better internally and externally since this small habit came into my life.

My roommate hates to see juice-making days, especially when I force her to try a concoction that always has a different color and doesn't always look appealing.

However, the colors range from what my goals and choice of taste confide in that week. Some are scared because of the taste, but there are so many ways to customize and get creative with it.

Juicing has become very popular for its blend of convenience and health consciousness, creating a trendy way to stay healthy, fit, and energetic.

Juicing has infinite benefits, and studies back up the amazing nutrients that you will feel and notice. There are so many different ways to get into it and with a diverse choice of fruits and vegetables that all have unique benefits and nutrients that you can choose from.

The convenience of being able to consume a variety of fruits and vegetables without having to eat them whole is something that I like about juicing. I personally don't want to eat a whole ginger root or a mass amount of cucumber and celery every day.

I swear by celery juice; it has been shown to promote immune, heart, and liver health. This has been proven to help boost your metabolism and works as an anti-inflammatory to promote rejuvenation and help with conditions like acne.

We are cleaning out our bodies, adding antioxidants, natural prebiotic factors, and electrolytes, and going through much-needed detoxification. If you're going to add one thing for sure, the list of benefits for celery is long and needed.

My favorite ingredients to blend lately have been kale, celery, cucumber, orange, ginger, apple, lemon, coconut water, and cayenne pepper. If you are worried about the flavor, I do not recommend turmeric or ginger because although they are effective, they're. The apple is the best ingredient to add sweetness and help with the flavor.

You might say you need a juicer, and honestly, I hope one day I can have one, but you really only need a blender and a strainer if you want to make this at home. You can still go to stores and buy juice if you don't have a blender; just make sure you are not buying one with added sugars and it is 100% made with natural fruits and vegetables.

My way is a good hour of work, but it is so worth it, and you can drink something you know YOU made with all-natural remedies. I use coconut water as a liquid to prevent straining a very thick mixture.

Before you start, there are drawbacks and misconceptions, and knowing how to juice healthily is important. Do your research and create what works best for you. There is potential high sugar and calorie content in some juices and a lack of fiber when you strip the pulp from the fruits and veggies.

However, choosing the right fruits and vegetables will allow you to feel the difference and see it in the mirror. Prioritizing our gut health will do wonders for how we feel. It is the best way to give your body a higher intake of essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Your body will thank you for much-needed detoxification and support for your digestion.
