Spring Reset

I don’t know about everyone else, but this past winter really took a toll on my mental health. I was working out and attempting to eat healthy, but I still wasn’t feeling the same sparkle or zest for life that I do when the weather is warm. As the temperatures are slowly, very slowly, starting to rise, I wanted to take this opportunity to help give you and me a jumping-off point to kickstart our health, happiness, and well-being as we finally begin to enter the spring season. We can’t always be That Girl, and while we shouldn’t feel like we constantly have to strive for an unattainable “picture-perfect” lifestyle, it’s nice to reset and refresh heading into a new season.

The first step to feeling good is looking good. Whether that’s actually doing my skincare routine, some light makeup, a full face, self-tan, or even just taking a few extra minutes on my hair it makes all the difference in my mood, and how I’m going to approach my day. These products will help bring out that “new season, new you” feeling:

Along with looking good comes a cute outfit. I know my day is always made when people compliment what I’m wearing, so here are a few trends that will definitely have people’s eyes on you this upcoming spring:

1. All Things Maxi

2. Ballet Core

3. Baggy Denim

4. Blended Colors

5. Sheer EVERYTHING!

On top of rocking a killer fit, and having a fresh face, one of the most crucial aspects of my day is what I’m listening to. I love Phoebe Bridgers as much as the next person, but I can’t say that she’s always the best artist for my mental health. Below is a playlist of others’ and my favorite warm weather songs—add your own favorite spring song so we can all give it a listen!

Improving our brain health is just as crucial, if not more important, for feeling good than any modification we could make to our body or dress. The best way I like to do that is through reading. The books below are a combination of my favorite reads, as well as ones I am most looking forward to grabbing for my next outdoor adventure.

  1. Daisy Jones and The Six (duh!) by Taylor Jenkins Reid

  2. Reckless Girls by Rachel Hawkins

  3. All the Women in My Brain by Betty Gilpen

  4. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith

  5. Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner

While this might not be a shared sentiment, I am a drink girly through and through. Whether or not I have a fun drink that day can really make or break my mood. Especially as the spring and summer months approach, I find myself reaching more and more for a refreshing, cold beverage. Here are a few of my favorite canned drinks and recipes that you can enjoy in any setting, alcoholic or not!

  1. Poppi Prebiotic Soda

  2. St. Germain Spritz

  3. Recess Sparkling Water

  4. Blackberry Mint Smash

  5. Pop & Bottle Oat Milk Lattes

I hope this random assortment of items brings you joy as we exit the winter season and enter spring. Whenever I’m spiraling, it helps to get a hold of even the most shallow of things, so while material things are not the answer to solving all of our mental health problems, they sure do seem to help sometimes. Goodbye, seasonal depression—here’s to warmer months to come and growing into the best version of ourselves (whatever that might look like).

Strike Out,

Haley Wolf
