Sandals to Beat the Permacloud
I live in Indiana, a state where we have this super fun situation called the permacloud. Basically, we host an entire winter where we see the sun about three times. Nasty. So, with spring break right around the corner, I have thrown together some permacloud-proof sandals that will brighten up any outfit and help convince yourself that it is 10 degrees warmer than it is!

First, I figured that I should start with a splurge. Winter is brutal, and we all deserve to ball out with some insane spring sandals. These platforms from Free People are surprisingly versatile! Although green is a bold color, they really can add a pop to any outfit. Jeans, skirts, yoga pants — your call. You will walk a little (or a lot) taller with these shoes this spring.

On a completely different price range and style, one of the looks that I have seen so many places this spring is the “puffy” sandal. I love these ones from Target in a super neutral shade. They are going to be really comfortable, and they won’t break the bank! If you want to change it up, the puffy sandal look is going to be in so many places this spring — you can find a pair that goes with any vibe!

One of my go-to’s for fun shoes has been Princess Polly, and they have a ton of amazing heels and sandals for spring. You have probably seen a lot of strappy, block-toe heels throughout winter, but for spring, we are going to see a lot more wedges and slide straps. They are quick to throw on (plus, white goes with everything!), and I will be so tempted to snatch these up for both my spring break outings and summertime!
Next up, a fan favorite: Birks. Birkenstocks have been by my side in all situations, and it says something that a pair of Birks can outlast ANY relationship. This spring, the company is trying out some fun new styles of slip-ons. After the success of its clogs this winter, its low-profile slides are perfect for everyone (unisex! yay!) and come in tons of great colors. No matter how you wear them, you can’t beat the comfort of Birkenstocks.
Okay, I could be super wrong for this one, but I am calling it now: Crocs will be making a comeback. I didn’t say that it was necessarily a good thing, but I have been seeing Crocs more often as of late, so I figured that I might as well make my prediction official. Not only are they super bright, customizable and comfortable, but they veer into campy territory, putting them right on the cusp of ironic and purposeful. Regardless of your feelings about Crocs, these slides are definitely going to brighten up a gross spring day. Plus, they are puddle-proof!
You have TONS of choices this spring. Find your price range, lock in to what makes your style yours, and go bright! Go big! Get the heels! A fun pair of shoes will kick out those cobwebs of seasonal depression.
