Promoting Healthy Dieting for the Mind and Body

In our everyday lives the mighty pace of our society sometimes makes us forget to take the time to create inner peace by allowing our bodies to have a proper healthy nourishment. By making a few changes in your diet by taking a positive approach will benefit your mind and body, making eating healthy not so boring anymore. Starting and continuing healthy eating habits not only can reduce the rate of diabetes and other illnesses, but it makes you feel and look like a dime piece. Eating healthy is more like a ritual for your brain: the more you do it, the easier it gets. To help those folks who want to be at ease throughout the day here are six easy steps to do in the morning that will create a peaceful mindset before you even start your day.

1. Have some “Personal Time”

The first is to have some “Me Time” while you make breakfast. Getting into a habit of starting each day relaxed and composed will make the rest of your day flow easily. Our minds are always racing thinking about tasks we need to accomplish for the day whether it is school, personal, or business. This peaceful time that we have in the morning is necessary to let your blood flow to our minds while we nourish our bodies with a good healthy meal. You can sit down and concentrate what you would like to accomplish for the day without anyone else around.

 2.  Take a step back and keep your mind at ease with a peaceful setting

You can even designate a pleasant specific spot whether its outside on your patio or at the kitchen counter. When we devote some time to plan out our day or even think about our needs and wants it allows us to create a peace of mind.  This calm and composed time is an escape from all of the thoughts we all have on our mind. Sit and relax and forget about all the emotional stress for the day and focus on what you can accomplish throughout our busy day. No one can do everything, but you can do something one step at a time. So let us take the day by its horns.

3. Know what to nourish your bodies with starting in the AM

Start with some yogurt topped with some fruit and a crunch like almonds or granola, this is a low- fat breakfast with all the necessary yummy ingredients are body needs to flourish.  When we feed our bodies with delicious and organic food our bodies create natural fuel to keep us going all day long. We can take the day by its horns, by starting off the morning right.

4. While eating, think about the textures and tastes of your food

Taste your food slowly and stop when you’re satisfied, not stuffed.  When we learn how to recognize our body’s satisfaction, it will also help control our weight and leave us feeling full instead of bloated. Start the day off right by knowing you are in control of your day and you can accomplish everything you set your mind to.

5. Try new foods, it will surprise you

For your proteins, adding a hint of lemon or lime to your fish like salmon or tilapia is a perfect way of making something healthy taste delicious. Top it off over a spread of spinach, some acidic fruit, and nuts for that crunch. Talk about the benefits of making your body feel great and it is fun.

 Starting off your day with some time to think about the day ahead will create a harmony within. When in this setting, we can get to the yummy and enjoyable cooking part. Cooking doesn’t have to be dull or tasteless. Get your comfy clothes on, put some music on and make a day out of it. You are in control of your own day so why not make it as fun as possible and the outcome is so satisfying. During this session, you can incorporate that me time too. Add a little funk to your day. Your mind and body will love you back.
