Pimple Patches vs. Pore Strips

Skincare has been around since the Ancient Egyptian era. However, it started to become extremely accessible in the 1900s. Pore strips have been a prominent part of skincare routines for decades, after Biore’s release in 1996. Pimple Patches have also recently had a rise in popularity after they became widely available in 2015. While these skincare products share the same purpose, they function differently. Pore strips stick to your skin, attach to the blackheads in your pores, and pull them out. Pimple patches stick to your skin and suck out the pus in your pores, trapping it in the patch. This process poses a bigger question, which one is better?

Though Pore Strips have been in use for decades, they don’t defeat the regular pimples. Pore Strips can pull out pesky black heads but they cannot assist with regular pimples, leaving them as they were before the strip was used. You could easily pop the pimples that remain, but that can lead to scarring and excess inflammation.

Pimple Patches can get rid of whatever pimples are left without creating extra problems. Though they might not be as satisfying as popping your pimples, it's safer for your skin. Along with being safer for your skin, they cost a lot less. A pack of 46 Pimple Patches costs roughly $8 whereas a pack of 14 pore strips goes for the same price.

Pore Strips are also harsher on the skin. Biore recommends that they be used only once a week, as they use adhesive that can be damaging to the skin. Pimple Patches don’t have a limit to how often they can be used and don’t cause harm to the skin.

Even though Pore Strips work just as well, Pimple Patches are the better option. While they have similar benefits for the skin, they hold different purposes. Pimple Patches are safer and better for your skin. Give them a try! Your skin will thank you.
