Paris Fashion Week Recap
Paris’s magical aurora was again greeted by the city’s favorite week of the year—fashion week. With plenty of new delicious looks, we have a lot to chat about, so let’s get going.
Chanel
Are we even surprised at this point? As Karl Largerfeld’s last show, Chanel’s runway was unbelievable to say the least. The show opened with a fresh blanket of snow on the ground and Cara Delevingne gliding down the runway in an unreal combination of tweed hounds’ tooth and plaid. The whole scene was magical and the fashion did not disappoint. Though a somber moment, upon watching you can’t help but feel how Karl’s love for fashion was reciprocated by his clothes as well as the models that wore them (and will for decades to come). If you want to see the show, you can watch it here.
Saint Laurent
This collection was one of the coolest shows of the week and probably left Harry Styles requesting the entire men’s collection as soon as possible. Full of legs, structured shoulders, and bangs, Anthony Vaccarello blended together decades of fashion into a dreamy show that left people wanting more. From the superb short-shorts to the effortless silk silhouettes, the futuristic vibe paired with 80s and 90s fashion was something we didn’t know we needed. If you’re interested, you can watch the show here.
Off-White
From the music to the runway, everything about Off-White’s show was so “on brand” that it hurtTM. Virgil Abloh has officially brought streetwear into the fashion scape and we can’t say we’re unhappy about it. Pops of color anchored looks with a basic yet timeless color pallet of neutral tones and black. Fun, bold prints and oversized puffers were nice touches that added needed dimension and interest to the show. If you want to see looks for yourself, you can watch the show here.
Tommy Hilfiger x Zendya
Zendaya really outdid herself with this one. The show, with its clear 70s inspiration, was inspiring and just an overall good time. Designed with the modern girl in mind, you could wear any of these pieces to any event you could possibly think of. You have an interview for internship you’ve been dying to get? Try this. You have a ridiculous family reunion at some campsite that you’re dreading? Maybe these will lift your mood. You have a first date with a boy that your friends guilted you on going on? These will impress. The show’s prints, styles, and materials will have you ordering ever piece you can get your hands on. If you want to join the party, watch the show here.
With plenty more amazing shows to watch, we’re sure you’re dying to see more from Paris Fashion week, so check out Vogue’s site for a full layout of everything that went down. Au revior pour le moment!
