Giambattista Valli Says Sophisticated Feminine Energy Is In During Paris Fashion Week

Giambattista Valli doesn’t stray much from their signature designs, and their 2023 Fall/Winter collection was no exception. During their show during Paris Fashion week, the delicate, sophisticated, and feminine energy the designer brings emanated throughout the entirety of the show; even complimented with soft, soothing melodies.

Sparkles, florals, and ruffles were prominent on the runway, similar to previous collections. Sheer was heavily used in styles, and in many different fashions. It was interesting to see the unique ways the sheer look could be displayed. Metallic was used heavily, especially in the sheer designs. Sparkled and floral sheers were prominent as well. Of course, we saw ruffles and florals incorporated into these looks as well. A number of these styles were also paired with a cape, which I found very interesting; a classy and unique addition. Trench coats and bulky overcoats made their fair share of appearances, as well as jumpsuits.

A halter style was integrated into many of the jumpsuit and dress looks, something I hadn’t necessarily seen before with Giambattista Valli. Another new addition I noticed was the use of feathered pants. The feathers were incorporated at the hem of the pants, different colors used made it eclectic and fun.

The shoe game was notable, with black boots making a substantial appearance. One look featured thigh-high boots, a style I’m always here for. Many of the styles also included platforms with poof balls on the toe, which was an interesting take.

One thing that stood out to me was their use of accessories, particularly jewelry. Runway models wore exceptionally large, jeweled dangle earrings. Many looks were also paired with chunky statement necklaces. I’m a colorful jewelry girl, and I thought it really added a lot to these looks. Belts and clutches also made their fair share of appearances on the runway, adding more intricacy to the looks. Heels were paired with either socks or tights.

Silhouettes ranged heavily. There were several bulky overcoats, slim-fitting dresses and jumpsuits, and fluffy pieces as well. There was a variety of colors used, mostly violets, pinks, reds, whites, blacks, and metallic golds.

Valli’s inspiration is said to come from powerful, talented women in the fashion industry, which is easily portrayed through his collections. He aims to celebrate the female form through his designs, and I would say he does a good job of doing so. Giambattista Valli is a well-established designer, and his looks are very classic and elegant. I am excited about the future of the brand and look forward to seeing more eclectic looks, like the styles showcased today.
