Navy Is The New Black
Black is a staple color found in every closet. She is sleek, she is stylish, and she looks undeniably good on everybody. However, a new color is cresting its way to the center of your closet and being seen at the top of your laundry hamper. My dear Strike readers, navy is the new black.
Navy is symbolic of quiet luxury that sits on your skin while radiating a classic and timeless "we summer in the Hamptons, but don't post about it" vibe. Its deep tones whisper regality to onlookers and passers-by. She has a softness to her that black simply lacks as she mimics pristine beauty from the depths of the sea. Navy provides less contrast, but still allows you to stand out amongst a crowd— I hardly need to convince you, truly the color speaks for itself.
For ladies, a midi, silk, navy skirt that can be found anywhere from Marshall's to Aritzia, makes for such a nice addition to any outfit. Paired with a simple white baby tee and a kitten heel will automatically elevate your everyday attire in ways a black midi never could. Not to mention a monochromatic navy set, whether that pertains to athleisure, comfy clothes, or a pantsuit- the mere fact that it is navy will elevate your look tremendously.
For the gents, a navy suit will never wrong you. Styled with a button down, sans a few buttons, you will find yourself illuminating quiet luxe as you step with a pair of dress shoes. And a message to the men, don't forget your belt.
While navy moves quietly, she needs accessories to accentuate her beauty.

Rather than a substitute for black, she is the moment. Navy is an inviolable foundation for any and all outfits that you want to give just a little bit more. Accompanied by cream items and gold jewelry, you find a stunning culmination of pure luxe.
Now here is where I tread the waters of controversy- navy and black. Together. Same outfit. Yes, you read that right. It's okay to go back and read it again if you must. You may be thinking that that is the equivalent of polka dots and stripes, plaid, and houndstooth.

Despite my direct jabs towards our dearest black, this was not to negate it and all of its wonders. But truly, to call attention to a much more supple and discreet beauty that is navy.
