Macaulay Culkin Models for Gucci Now?
Keep your change “ya filthy animals”, because Christmas came early this year. Part of the Gucci Love Parade, former child star, Macaulay Culkin shockingly hit the runway. Now creative director, Alessandro Michele’s Gucci family is notorious for being full of distinguished celebrities -- but Culkin was nothing short of a surprise. Culkin can now add the title of ‘runaway model’ to his resume.
Culkin has kept a low-profile since his incredibly popular string of smash hit films. Though, lately he has been easing back into the public eye. In recent months, after taking an extended break from Hollywood, he has been gaining attention once again. You can find him in the new season of American Horror Story, where has officially returned to acting. Macaulay Culkin’s brother, Kiernan, may be taking up most of the Hollywood buzz these days, but it appears Macaulay has risen to a full-fledged Gucci model. (Even if this is a one time thing.)
Culkin strutted down Hollywood Boulevard in a Hawaiian shirt under a floral bomber jacket. This was paired with Seventies-style tinted sunglasses and stylish black clogs. He also sported the classic Gucci belt and wide-legged bottoms. The nostalgia from the outfit seemingly gives off a look that could be placed right in the 90’s version of Romeo and Juliet. This could possibly be a nod to the film, as this year is its 25th anniversary.
Culkin wasn’t the only A-list celebrity to walk for Gucci. Jared Leto was among several actors, who not only attended the show, but starred in it as models. Though unlike Culkin’s almost incredibly random appearance, Leto has a connection to Gucci. He is set to play Paolo Gucci in the upcoming film House of Gucci. Love Parade definitely created a colorful celebration between cinema and fashion. Even Michele himself said that the show was about, "how much of this brand is bound to cinema.” Other stars who appeared in the show and modeled Gucci’s spring-summer 2022 collection included Jodie Turner-Smith, Phoebe Bridgers, and Kodi Smit-McPhee.
Who knows if fans will get to see Culkin work his “Richie Rich” magic again on the runway. It is for sure very clear that this was a big hit for Culkin. Hopefully we'll see him in other TV or film projects as well. What a spectacle Gucci Love Parade put on for 2021.
