Living in Coral

In an ode to the fun and frivolous in our daily lives, Pantone announced earlier this year that the 2019 color of the year is "Living Coral." As stated on Pantone's website, "In reaction to the onslaught of digital technology and social media increasingly embedding into daily life, we are seeking authentic and immersive experiences that enable connection and intimacy. Symbolizing our innate need for optimism and joyful pursuits, Pantone 16-1546 Living Coral embodies our desire for playful expression." (Pantone.com) What better way to pay respects to intimacy, expression, and optimism by developing it into your beauty routine. If Living Coral is about celebrating the things that provide a sense of truth it only seems right that we use the color to express ourselves. Thankfully, our makeup trends have adhered to this. Living Coral is a mantra to life and your beauty routine. You can use these products to add some Living Coral to your life.

Glossier: Cloud Paint in Dawn

First up is Glossier's iconic cloud paint. A brand that prides itself on celebrating the individual offers a gel-cream to proclaim everything that makes you, uniquely you. These versatile products come in a variety of shades but were focused on dawn, which is described as a sunny coral. The blush which will run around $18 can be purchased in Glossier exclusive stores, pop-up shops, or online here.

Violet Voss: Coral Crush Eyeshadow Palette

This palette offers numerous hues to express the different types of "living coral" moods you're in each day. It contains 18 different shades and is free of sulfates. You can escape to paradise with the shade Pina Colada, which is a vanilla cream matte, or express the most delicate parts of yourself with the shade Tiger-Lily, a hot coral with glitter flecks. You can grab the palette on Sephora's website here for $42. Whatever coral hue you want to express, Violet Voss has got you covered.

L'Oreal: Shine Lipstick in Luminous Coral

This gorgeous lipstick is from none other than makeup legend L'Oreal. Keeping it consistent since the very beginning they offer a variety of shades to express yourself. However, we're specifically looking at this opulent glowing Luminous Coral. Perfect for your every-day look, this is certainly a shade you can live in. It compliments Pantone's Living Coral by being an intimate color your lips can cozy up to every morning. It's cost-effective as well running at $10 on L'Oreal's website, located here.

Sally Hansen: Peach of Cake

This color will brighten up your life and your nails. Why be boring when expressing ourselves? Instead, choose this smooth nail polish which dries quickly and has a high gloss shine to it. Picture yourself spending countless hours typing over a keyboard. Now picture yourself looking down at your fun flirty, coral-colored nails while doing that. Using this nail-polish is a sure-fire way to lighten up even the darkest of days. You can grab it for only $4 on Amazon here.

There is no doubt that Pantone made the right choice for 2019. We are living in an era where we are more engaged with our following than our surroundings. It is only right of Pantone to remind us that we need to live a little and get away from our screens. Living coral is the epitome of letting go and living in the moment. These products only emphasize that and bring you closer to expressing your truest self: someone who shines as brightly and vibrantly as the color coral.
