Jean

Walking life through wearing different shades of blue

Jean adjusted her seam as she grew

Embodying chaos

She wore rips and tears

Once seen as a flare of excitement

Jean now felt torn

Distorted Dreams

Everything is not as it seems

An embroidery of uncertainty

Jean seeked vintage

She embarked a journey to tying the loose ends

Wanting to be redefined, refitted

Immersed in her closet of thoughts

Rummaging through shrunken shirts and loose pants

Jean no longer wanted to sell herself short

She looked through shelves where hope is stored

Running quickly into a room of renovation

Jean had trials of misfits

Until smoothly emerging into a perspective

Jean seamlessly immersed in new cloth

Like seeing a newborn baby in blue

A new sense of youthfulness shined as she smiled

She was lost,

but now she was found

And from there Jean seamlessly felt free

She turned around to see what she will be leaving behind

Reflecting one last time

She folded the remains of her childhood

Placing them inside a bag of old memories

Zipping up the final remains of her old self

She softly glanced at the mirror, seeing a silver lining

She emerged into a new lifestyle

A new and improved fit

A new era

Now standing straight and feeling relaxed

She felt less distorted and saw more clarity

A rough start pulling up her emotions

Yet a smooth finish painting a new piece

Closing her door and opening a new window

Jean strides away

Running for what's next in 2023
