Gigi Hadid x FAO Schwarz

When it comes to design collaborations, Gigi Hadid is certainly no stranger to it. However, this collab was something totally new and definitely unexpected for Gigi. She had the opportunity to design the uniforms for the FAO Schwarz’s toy soldiers for the reopening of their store at Rockefeller Plaza, in New York City. 

She unveiled her new uniforms at a FAO Schwarz event and then on the The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon afterwards. Gigi said that once the people of FAO Schwarz came to her with this offer of collaborating on a design, it was an offer she couldn’t pass up! She was obsessed with FAO Schwarz as a kid, and is quite excited that whenever kids enter the store, they will be able to see her own designs. The new toy soldier uniforms include double-breasted red jackets with gold epaulettes covering the shoulders paired with a hat with FAO building blocks and gold detailing. She even added elements to some suits like medals of honor and crafted some suits to be tailored for a females silhouette. To add on to her personal touch of these iconic uniforms, FAO Schwarz is having women and children soldiers dressed for the first time ever. 

You can catch Gigi’s toy soldier designs making their debut at the reopening tomorrow, November 16th.
