Faux Fall Fashion

Some seem to think that hotter temperatures do not align with fall fashion, but I’m here to tell you otherwise. There are many different ways to incorporate fall trends into your daily look, all while avoiding a heat stroke. Fashion has surpassed the days of having to abide by a strict set of guidelines and restrictions; especially when you live in an area that completely defies the fact that there are four distinct seasons. Fashion, in general, is what you make of it. So, here’s how to make your Florida fashion a little more fall.

Jewel Tones

Incorporating jewel tones into your wardrobe is the perfect way to embody the essence of fall, regardless of the garment. Whether it’s a citrine silk slip dress or an emerald faux croc baguette bag, you can’t go wrong. Also, never underestimate the power of a deep ruby nail polish.

Sweater Vests

Sweater vests are the simple answer for how to get the substance of a sweater, minus the sweat. I love pairing a houndstooth sweater vest with a white tennis skirt or denim

Faux Leather

Faux leather gives you the look and feel of real leather, without retaining all the heat. A blush faux leather is a great substitute for day wear. Anywhere from a jacket to leggings, faux leather belongs in your fall wardrobe.

Shades of Nude and Brown

A monochrome look is suitable for any time of the year. However, to me, a monochrome look of nude or brown screams fall. Maybe even a sage green monochrome, if you’re one to embrace color.

Patchwork

Patchwork is a great way to incorporate fall into your warmer weather wardrobe. Patchwork pants, patchwork dress or top; we love it all. This is an especially great option if you’re keen on upcycled and sustainable clothing.

A Hint of Prep

Drape that cardigan over your shoulders; it’s way too hot to actually wear it. Try tying one crossbody for a bit of variation. Loafers, plaid skirts, lace tights, and empress headbands can all be incorporated into Florida-friendly fall attire.

Accessories

Accessorizing for fall is a must. Grab a metallic bag, fisherman cap, or floral mask and you’re golden.

Fringe

Enough said.
