Everything We Know About Taylor Swift's Album: Midnights

Taylor Swift announced her 10th studio album last month at the 2022 VMA’s during her acceptance speech for Video of the Year won by All Too Well The Short film. This announcement sent swifties like me, into freak-out mode. Soon after the announcement, Swift's team posted to Instagram about the win, closing the caption with “See you at midnight. 👀 #MeetMeAtMidnight.” Swifties went to Twitter to freak out together, anxiously awaiting what Taylor would announce.

When midnight struck, Swift announced the name and concept of the album, Midnights. The album will consist of 13 songs and revolve around “13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life.” Since Swifties got a hold of this information, the fan theories have been flowing.

The theory that seems the most accurate is that the album will be more melancholy and folklore adjacent in theme. It will be made up of songs about introspective self-doubt like The Archer, mirrorball, and Nothing New, as well as breakup songs like All Too Well and Dear John. The album may also touch on one of the subjects she’s written about in the past, like her mother having cancer in Soon You’ll Get Better, and the pains of growing up in Never Grow Up.

This soft rock and dream pop album will be her deepest and most emotional work yet. October 21st cannot come fast enough!
