We want people to be able to come in and do a brand-new experience that’s messy and fun and memorable while going home with some art that will last forever, whether it be a cute bowl for your table, a handbuilt sculpture, or even just a coffee mug they painted and use every day.”

If you’re unsure about trying pottery for the first time, don’t fear— Super Awesome Cool Pottery’s team has some simple advice for you: “Don't worry, you will get messy but it all washes out! And be okay with the imperfect, clay is finicky and can change in an instant.” Pottery is all about embracing the process, and there’s no need to stress over perfection.

For those who are hesitant to begin, their advice is clear: “Just start. Be okay with the uncomfortable or the imperfect, and keep trying. We all know practice makes perfect, so keep going and learn from your mistakes.”

One of the studio’s teachers explains, “One of our awesome teachers will teach you how to throw a bowl or two on a Potter’s Wheel, and while you’re choosing your colors, we’ll be drying them just enough to be able to be painted when you’re done. It’s always fun to see the different shapes and sizes of bowls that people come away with, and it’s even cooler to see how many hidden artists we have around Orlando with how well they paint it!”

Additionally, the studio offers a membership for artists to create their own clay masterpieces, from large vases to intricate sculptures. While they haven’t yet had the time to develop full partnerships due to their busy schedule with camps and events, they are excited about the potential for future collaborations.
