Crocs' “Mega Crush Sandals” Are Strutting In Just in Time for Summer
From Birkenstocks to Steve Madden’s platform wedges, each summer has brought in a pool of contestants battling it out to become America's next top summer sandal. Unfortunately for those patiently waiting in line, the next reigning champion may have just been released this year by the beloved shoe brand Crocs. Say goodbye to sandals of the past and give your warmest of hellos to the “Mega Crush Sandal.”
This platform sandal comes with all the features of a normal croc including a strap in the back for activities requiring you to be in “sports-mode” and holes on the top to add Jibbitz of your choosing. The shoe comes in a variety of colors including light blue, black, hot pink, grey, and white. Crocs’ online store is currently only featuring some of their colors as they restock, but you can find most of their options on Zappos too.
While avid Crocs fans may have seen the shoe’s drop online or in an in-person store, their recent appearance on TikTok are stirring up all the rage. What seems to be a hit is the fact you can personalize these to whatever your style is. As someone who likes to switch between dark and light colored aesthetics, finding a shoe that can accommodate both is always the challenge before walking out the door.
So, how exactly can we style these?
For those of you who love a good pastel moment, Tiktoker @Beautifasillage created a pretty-in-pink aesthetic with her sandals. Decorating with hearts, flowers, and an arrangement of pearls, her shoes are ready to take on any event, casual or formal. If you lean toward a grungier aesthetic, TikToker @Sweetunicornjesus has just the inspiration for you. Styling the black mega crushes, these shoes are decorated with all silver gems including a skeleton hand and a spider. Pairing these with a black t-shirt and midi skirt, their personalized sandals take this outfit to the next level.
Aside from being an easy, matchable shoe, the Mega Crush Sandals also fall right into the comfy yet chic category. With other summer sandal, I found that it was a nightmare trying to find something in this department of fashionable leisure. When I purchased my first pair of Birkenstocks, the whole “breaking in the leather” process was not something I was aware of. Being entirely oblivious, I made the mistake of immediately taking them out to a summer festival. It’s safe to say I put them on my shelf for a while before mustering the courage to wear them out again.
I’m not one to cave easily into what I see online but these shoes had me entering my card information a little quicker than I’d probably like to admit. While sandals of past seasons have had their time in the spotlight, Crocs’ newest sandal just “crushed” the competition this year.
