Celebrity Wedding Dresses that leave you wanting to walk down the aisle
Although their love lives may be covered with controversies and messy drama, it's hard to deny one thing- celebrities sure do know how to plan the perfect wedding day.
From Priscilla Presley’s traditional ‘60s style look to Princess Diana’s extravagant ‘80s gown, high-profile wedding dresses have acted as a time capsule to the past, giving us an inside look into history’s fashion trends.
Recently, modern brides like Zoë Kravitz and Hailey Beiber have taken a more contemporary bridal approach, while still paying homage to the traditional white wedding dress. However, other celebrities are still seeking out a more timeless look in order to achieve a classical, romantic aesthetic on their wedding day.
If you’re searching to get inspired for your big day, take a look at some of my favorite, most jaw-dropping wedding dresses worn by current celebrities.
During their fall ceremony, actress AnnaSophia Robb and her fiancé Trevor Paul said “I Do.” While the romantic outdoor venue captured the hearts of the public, Robb’s dress was the star of the event .
According to Robb, it took a while for her to figure out what she was looking for in a dress. But when she saw Danielle Frankel’s designs, everything started to fall in place.
“I remember the first time I went to Danielle’s studio, my jaw dropped,” the bride says. “Her dresses are unlike anything I had seen: modern and whimsical, yet classic and timeless—a distinct voice in the bridal world,” the bride said in an interview with Vogue.
After trying on many gowns, Robb finally said yes to a strapless gown with a structured corset bodice and delicate tulle wraparound scarf that “felt very Grace Kelly” to the bride.
Last year, the White Lotus actress Alexandra Daddario and film producer Andrew Form tied the knot at New Orleans’ iconic Preservation Hall.
To match the historic setting of the wedding venue, Daddario went with a Danielle Frankel design.
“I fell in love with Danielle Frankel’s dresses,” she says. “I followed them on Instagram. They sent me a message, and we chatted, and when I went to their studio, I just felt beautiful in everything. I chose my dress because it felt like it belonged in New Orleans and was the right choice for the Louisiana heat,” Alexandra Daddario said in an interview with Vogue.
Daddario’s dress, called the Scarlet and retailing for $9,990, is pleated silk wool with lace appliqués, spaghetti straps and a tulle train.
Although the actor couple kept their wedding out of the public eye for several months following the ceremony, the photos of Zoë Kravitz and Karl Glusman were worth the wait.
From the ceremony which took place in the father of the bride, Lenny Kravitz’s, Parisian townhouse to the vintage-inspired dress, this celebrity wedding was the epitome of timeless elegance.
Kravitz channeled her inner Audrey Hepburn in a tea-length white dress created by her longtime friend, designer Alexander Wang. Although Kravitz did not wear a veil, the dress was paired with iconic kitten heels, and bow headband
The classic, floor-length wedding gown may be timeless. However, short dresses are giving them a run for their money, and it is clear to see why.
In September 2020, actress and singer Lily Allen married Stranger Things actor David Harbour. The Las Vegas ceremony and the photos of the new family eating at In-N-Out Burger afterwards made their wedding a memorable event in the media’s eyes. But for me, Allen's wedding dress stole the show.
On her big day, the bride wore a double-breasted mini dress by Chrisitan Dior with Miu Miu shoes. A tulle veil in the bride’s updo tied the whole look together.
There’s nothing I love more than a royal wedding, and Princess Beatrice of York’s big day did not disappoint.
During an intimate ceremony at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor, the Princess married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi with Her Majesty in July of 2020. Beatrice wore a vintage Norman Hartnell dress borrowed from Queen Elizabeth II who originally wore the dress to attend the Lawrence of Arabia premiere in 1962.
In order to fit the bride’s measurements, the dress was altered by Angela Kelly and organza puff sleeves were added to complete the look. Made from ivory Peau De Soie taffeta, the finished dress was also adorned with more than 10,000 seed pearls.
