Boot Up! The Evolution of Boots and What to Wear This Winter

As the winter months approach, the big question we’re all facing is how to transition our Florida fall wardrobe into a winter one. Boots of all kinds have always been a staple that can range from casual to dressy, but it comes down to deciding which styles to wear with which outfits.
One of the most trending boot styles on the market right now is the Frye boot, or if you don’t have $500 to dish out like me, Frye boot dupes.

The Frye Campus 14L is a classic look. A simple leather boot with a small wooden heel. These boots are perfect for a casual outfit like denim skirts or shorts and a cute top. They’re extremely versatile and go with outfits for many occasions. As far as the color, they offer many neutral options, but the traditional Frye look has to be “Banana,” which provides a slight pop of color that isn’t too extreme to mix and match. Dupes can be found all over, from Princess Polly, Forever 21, and Amazon, which have the same Frye style for as low as $40.
If you’re looking for more of an upscale look for a fancy dinner out or a holiday event, the fold-over style seems to be a popular one this season.

This style offers a classier look that can be paired with dresses and skirts in place of heels if you’re looking for a warmer option to wear out. If the heel is too tall or thin, there are many other options with a chunkier heel. Steve Madden, Nine West, and even Target all have great and durable options for the fold-over boot that might offer extra comfort.

Last but certainly not least, knee-high platform boots have been in for quite some time and are not going anywhere this winter. This style is extremely adaptable, pairing well with dresses, jackets, micro shorts, miniskirts, and anything that makes a statement. These boots are edgy and high-fashion, not to be disregarded when looking for something to add spice to your outfit this season. They gained popularity as the perfect rave boots and made a huge comeback this Halloween. My guess is that they’ll stay for the winter as they become an outfit staple. The sleek, black look is a perfect way to add some edge to an outfit without detracting any pops of color or statement pieces.
No matter what style you’re looking to adapt for the winter season, boots are the way to elevate any look. Whether you’re looking for something low-key, high-fashion, or a splash of color to add to an outfit, the perfect pair of boots is a fantastic addition to take your winter look to the next level.
