A lingering touch seared on my lower back

The heat of the moment

Are you okay?

Lies, lies, lies 

Because I’m too ugly?

Because I’m too fat?

Because I’m too weird?

Because I’m too much of a virgin?

Doesn’t he know

That I should 

could 

would be anything for him?

He likes it better with her

He makes her feel good for her

He pulls the blankets over her

He shuts the blinds for her

He only smiles for her 

He likes it better with her 

And I’m here;

Stuck. Waiting.
