Birdies, Bogeys, and Blush: Golf Wife Season
Golf season
The sun is shining; a gentle breeze flows on a beautiful morning. It's the kind of day that makes you glad you traded stuffy indoor plans for an open-air escape.
Men are strutting in tight pants, leaving just enough room for their egos. The clubs are not the only thing well-rounded, if you know what I mean.
Women are rolling in pairing chic with sporty. My swing needs some polishing, but I will serve looks while doing it. I am cosplaying as an expensive wife and laughing with my man like we are millionaires.
Consider it a green flag if his happy place is the golf course and not the bar. He's not drinking at 11 p.m. on a Friday night, mainly because he has a tee time and a drink waiting for him at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, and I am not mad.
While out perfecting his swing, he’s learning patience, social skills, staying active, and getting some sun. Now, this is an activity my husband is a part of. He bombs it 300; I’m not sure what that means, but he looks good doing it.
We are trying to meet people at bars, clubs, church, or dating apps, but I’ll tell you what, he’s probably on the golf course. They know how to dress and are respectful, kind, and humble; this is where it is at.
He is inviting me along, and I get to wear my little mini skirt with my pastel polo, my visor, and glasses, and when I am tired, I am sipping my tequila soda in the clubhouse with the ladies.
It sounds like my kind of Sunday afternoon, and we are about to make a pit stop at my house to have a handshake with my parents.
Not sure what bogeys and birdies are, but damn, my man looks good hitting that ball. He thinks he’s a NASCAR driver in the golf cart, and we almost crash five times, but we are having the best time.
And respect to the ladies who are golf queens because this sport is way more complicated than it looks and takes a lot of practice to be good. It is still fun if you don't know anything about it and are there for support and new experiences.
Golf reflects the vibrant energy of spring and is a great way to be sociable and outside this year. Beautiful views of the green acres have significant mental and physical benefits, giving the mind and body a holistic energy boost. The low-impact yet effective activity improves your coordination, balance, and focus.
Quality time is spent, we are out with our friends, and it is a great overall activity. Something about your partner teaching you something he loves so you can do it together and try new things.
I am literally so bad at golf, but it's my favorite activity. You just need someone that knows the rules, and you can ride along for the experience. No Topgolf, the real deal, and just try it because you will love it and maybe even meet the love of your life.
You're welcome, and Strike out,
