10 Virgo Celebrities Who Live Up to Their Star Signs

As August closes out, and fall slowly rolls in, along comes the season of the Virgo. For those who don’t know, the Virgo season lasts from August 23 to September 22. Despite their sign being “The Maiden”, people born under this star sign are far from being shy, introverted souls. Here are 10 famous Virgos who shine bright, just like their constellation.

1. Sydney Sweeney (September 12, 1997)

Although the actress has a pretty lengthy resume and has been in the film and television business for over 10 years, Sydney Sweeney is best known for her role as Cassie on the hit TV show Euphoria, and quickly became an icon and a fan favorite. This 25-year-old Virgo Queen shines not just on the screen, but off the screen as well. Sweeney has been vocal in the feminist movement, expressing concerns about Hollywood's double standard against women during an interview with Cosmopolitan.

2. Zendaya (September 1, 1996)

Zendaya is another Euphoria star, except this star has been shining for quite some time now and is no rookie to being an idol. Many first became obsessed with Zendaya when she graced everyone’s TV on Disney Channel’s Shake It Up. Since then, she’s taken off and has become a powerhouse in the entertainment world. From movies to music and even modeling, it’s no surprise she was named one of Time Magazine's Most Influential People of 2022.

3. Nick Jonas (September 16, 1992)

Fellow Disney star Nick Jonas is another Virgo worth bragging about. At just seven years old, Jonas had already accomplished a lifelong dream of many: acting on Broadway. Then came the formation of the iconic band The Jonas Brothers, catapulting Nick and his brothers Joe and Kevin to superstardom. With the Jonas Brothers’ fame came numerous tours, Disney’s Camp Rock movies, their own sitcom called Jonas, and of course, screaming fans with mega crushes.

4. Billy Porter (September 21, 1969)

Billy Porter is a Tony Award-winning phenomenon who has opened doors and broken barriers for many since the early 90s. Porter was first discovered through the show Star Search, and a star is exactly what they found. After that, Porter made his debut on the Broadway stage, becoming a theater sensation. From acting to singing to choreographing, Porter can do it all. It doesn’t just stop on the stage either. In 2018, Porter was cast in Pose, a hit TV show highlighting the LGBTQ community and the rise of ballroom culture in the 1980s.

5. Blake Lively (August 25, 1987)

This “it girl” has talent running through her veins. As the daughter of actor Ernie Lively and sister of many siblings in the film industry, Blake Lively was destined to be in the spotlight. Many were introduced to Lively through the 2005 film, The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants or the hit teen drama, Gossip Girl. Since her rise to stardom, Lively hasn’t left our screens, starring in numerous films in the past two decades. She even started a family legacy of her own, marrying actor Ryan Reynolds in 2012.

6. Bebe Rexha (August 30, 1989)

Another blonde icon, who’s been right under our noses long before reaching mass popularity: Bebe Rexha. Rexha has been writing songs and winning awards since 2010 until eventually finding success as a singer herself. She’s won 7 BMI Film & Television awards and, in 2012, won the Abe Olman Scholarship for her songwriting. She also helped write the Grammy-winning song, “The Monster” by Eminem and Rihanna.

7. Idris Elba (September 6,1972)

Idris Elba is a London-born actor whose first acting role was in 1994 in Crimewatch. At first, Elba mainly appeared in British Media until his American breakthrough on The Wire. Since then, Elba has done everything from movies, television, and music, to even kickboxing. Elba’s diverse casting history ranges from average dad to superhero and even portraying Nelson Mandela in the biographical film, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. It’s no wonder he’s captured the hearts of millions of fans and earned People’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2018.

8. Taraji P. Henson (September 11, 1970)

Taraji P. Henson is an award-winning actress who has also acted alongside Elba. After her role in the 2001 film Baby Boy, she became a superstar. Shortly after, she was nominated for two Academy Awards, winning for her singing role in the 2005 film, Hustle & Flow. In 2015, she became the first African American woman to win the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role as Cookie Lyon on the TV show Empire. Henson has also authored a New York Times best-selling autobiography, Around the Way Girl.

9. Beyoncé (September 4, 1981)

Beyoncé is well, Beyoncé. If you don’t know who Beyoncé is, that means you’ve been living under a rock...or you’re a time traveler from the 1800s. Beyoncé currently reigns as the Queen of the music industry with fans referring to her as “Queen Bey”. She’s been performing since she was a child and found fame as the lead singer of Destiny’s Child, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. In 2003, Beyoncé went solo and has not left her throne since. She has nine award-winning albums, including The Lion King: The Gift, inspired by Disney’s live-action Lion King film. Not only did she sing and produce the album but also starred in the film, along with many other films and TV show credits. Beyoncé has won numerous awards and has even performed at the Super Bowl halftime show multiple times. She is currently in the middle of a world tour, performing a selection of old songs and music from her most recent Renaissance album.

10. Michael Jackson (August 29, 1958- June 25, 2009)

Although this king is no longer with us, his legacy continues to live on. Beyoncé herself credits him as her inspiration. Michael Jackson, better known as the “King of Pop” is the ultimate definition of a performer. He has 10 studio albums and 19 compilation albums. His Thriller album is currently the best-selling album of all time. Jackson rose to fame alongside his brothers in the history-making, record-selling pop band, The Jackson 5. After going solo, not only did Jackson become a cultural figure, but his musical transformed a culture, helping eliminate racial tensions. Everyone, no matter “Black or White”, or everything in between loved Michael Jackson’s music then and now.
